Lisa Paul Magoti, an IFRoS student promotion 2023-2025, shares how IFRoS helped her transition from a background in mechanical engineering to working in agricultural robotics. After completing her master’s thesis with Agrikola.AI, a company developing robots to improve crop health and sustainability, she has continued with the team professionally.
“I am Lisa Paul Magoti, a graduate of EMJM Intelligent Field Robotic Systems (IFROS) program. I am truly grateful to the IFROS program for opening doors to the world of robotics and equipping me with the skills and confidence to grow in this field. With my background in Mechanical Engineering, IFROS provided me with the unique opportunity to deepen my expertise in automation, perception, motion planning, and robotic manipulation. Beyond the classroom, the program offered hands-on experiences with cutting-edge platforms, mentorship from experts, and exposure to a wide network of academic and industrial collaborators.
One of the most impactful opportunities IFROS provided me was connecting me to Agrikola.AI, an innovative agritech company focused on developing robotic solutions for agriculture.
Agrikola.AI focuses on revolutionizing farming practices through robots that carry out tasks such as eradicating fungi using UV light, boosting both efficiency and crop health. Thanks to IFROS, I was able to do my master’s thesis with Agrikola.AI, where I worked on real-world challenges in agricultural robotics and applied the knowledge and skills I had acquired throughout the program.
This experience was transformative, as it not only allowed me to contribute to impactful projects but also paved the way for my professional journey. I am proud to share that I am still continuing my work with Agrikola.AI as part of their team, where I get to further develop robotics solutions that make agriculture more sustainable and efficient.
The IFROS program has been the bridge between my academic journey and my professional career, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunities, knowledge, and connections it has provided me.”
