First IFROS Day of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Intelligent Field Robotic Systems

Last Friday, the 3rd of June of 2022, we celebrated the first IFROS Day, with the students of intake 1 of the Master Programme.

The event took place at the Polytechnic School of the Universitat de Girona, the coordinator of the master, and we enjoyed an attractive programme of activities.

After the welcome by Gerardo Boto, Director of the UdG School of Doctoral Studies, we had a brief speech by IFROS/MIRS Academic Coordinators, Dr. Narcís Palomeras Rovira, Dr. Nuno Estrela Gracias, and we connected online for the welcome by the other two partners of IFROS master, Professor Tamara Petrović, representative of Sveučilišta U Zagrebu (UNIZG), Zagreb (Croatia), and Dr. Zoltan Istenes, representative Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest (Hungary).

In order to show the work and the progress of the students during the first year at UdG, we organised a demonstration of practical projects with the turtlebots.

Next, we had the opportunity to listen to two former students who spoke about their experience and offered internships and the possibility to develop the master thesis at their companies: Ferran Roure, PhD in Computer Vision & Robotics at EURECAT, Centre Tecnològic de Catalunya; and Josep Aulinas, connecting online from NVIDIA, in Germany, where he works as an Automotive Platform Architect.

The day ended with a farewell brunch for the students and professors of the master.
