Eric Nguyen, an IFRoS graduate (2022-2024), is currently working as a Junior Scientist at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). Dedicated to large-scale robotics, Eric focuses on pose detection, task and motion planning using vision-language models. Discover how IFRoS laid the foundation for his innovative work.
I am currently a Junior Scientist in the Complex Dynamical Systems Unit at the Center for Vision, Automation & Control, part of the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). In particular I am working in the Large-Scale Robotics Lab The AIT open-air test site for autonomous machines – AIT Austrian Institute Of Technology lab. My work focuses on large-scale robots, such as cranes and forklift trucks, specializing in pose detection, task and motion planning using vision-language and foundation models. This research bridges the gap between industry and academia, addressing real-world challenges with cutting-edge methods that operate in real-time, outdoor environments.
