MD Mohsin Kabir – From IFRoS to PhD at Mälardalen University

MD Mohsin Kabir, an IFRoS graduate (2022-2024), has embarked on his PhD journey in Computer Science at Mälardalen University in Sweden. His research focuses on advanced thermal management of complex cooling systems, in collaboration with industry partners like Hitachi Energy and Ledai AB. Read his first-hand account of his journey below.

“I’m happy to share that I’ve started my Doctor of Philosophy – PhD at Mälardalen University!

Alhamdulillah, I’ve officially started my PhD in Computer Science at Mälardalen University, Västerås. This is Sweden’s youngest university, having achieved university status in 2022, but the groundbreaking work they have been doing in science since 1977 is truly inspiring, and it’s a privilege to be part of it.

My research focuses on HeatTrack: Enhanced Reliability, Monitoring, and Diagnostics of Complex Cooling Systems through Advanced Thermal Management. I’m working within the Division of Computer Science and Software Engineering, part of the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems research group. What makes this project exciting is its industrial collaboration with leading partners like Hitachi Energy and Ledai AB, bridging academia and real-world challenges.

Truly grateful for how far I’ve come and excited for what lies ahead!”
